Our leathers.
Nappa.
Full-grain leather finished for softness, tanned mainly in Alcanena, Portugal, by an LWG Gold tannery. Smooth enough that light runs across it.
Full grain.
The top layer of the hide, left intact. It's the strongest part. It marks, settles and gains character with wear.
Nubuck.
Starts as full grain, then lightly sanded to a fine nap. Softer than smooth leather, more robust than suede.
Suede.
Cut from the underside of the hide and sanded to a velvety nap, tanned in Italy and Spain. Soft from the first wear. Suede and nubuck don't like moisture, so protect them before you first wear them.
No two the same.
Leather reacts like skin. Each hide takes colour in its own way, so shades can differ slightly per batch, and colour changes with sun and wear. We check for it. We can't remove it, and that's what makes it leather.
Good leather asks for a little care.
A brush, a protector and some attention. It's all in the care guide.
