Designed in The Netherlands.

At our design studio in the Netherlands we focus on the things even the eye can't see, to build better. We approach clothing and footwear as product design. Prototype, test, refine, repeat. Every collection is the same but evolved.

Built in family-owned ateliers.

Our footwear is handmade in Felgueiras, Portugal, the heart of Portuguese shoemaking. The family-owned atelier we work with has roots going back to 1935: three generations of shoemakers, today a team of 76 specialists. Cutting, lasting and stitching by hand; a single pair holds 20 to 40 individual components. For our menswear we select a specialist per fabric: knitted, woven and sewn in Portugal, Turkey and China. Our heavyweight denim is woven in Tokyo, Japan. The best maker for each craft, nothing less.

Tech meets craft.

We merge traditional shoemaking with today's technology. ETQ sneakers are built with a Strobel construction for flexibility, on our own vulcanised rubber sole: a blend of natural and synthetic rubber, developed to flex, absorb impact and resist wear. Inside sits our removable memory foam insole with moisture regulation, on a leather footbed. Comfortable on the first wear, made to stay that way for years.

High standards.

Only the finest materials enter the atelier. Our nappa, suede and nubuck come from LWG certified tanneries in Portugal, Italy and Spain, and every hide is inspected on finish, colour, surface and thickness before a single cut is made. Leather that does not meet the standard goes back. During production each department checks its own work before a pair moves on, and every finished pair passes two final inspections before it ships. No shortcuts, no exceptions.
