What are people saying about our merino wool cardigan.
Designed in the Netherlands, the most adaptable layer a man owns.
The cardigan is the most adaptable layer a man owns: open it, close it, dress it up or down. And it lives or dies on the quality of the knit. The ETQ ZS 04 is built in 100% extrafine merino with a clean placket, a considered button finish and a fine-gauge body that holds its line whether buttoned or worn loose, and it's machine washable. Designed in our Dutch studio and knitted in China at a mill chosen for its specialism in fine-gauge merino, from wool raised in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Across more than 500 verified reviews ETQ holds 4.6 out of 5, and comfort is the word that recurs most after quality. Part of a community of more than 250,000 customers.
Why merino makes it work harder
It regulates temperature, so it's a true year-round layer; it wicks moisture and resists odour, so it stays fresh; and it's soft enough to wear over a tee with nothing underneath. Throw it over a shirt for the office or over a crewneck on a cold evening, and it earns its place either way.
How to wear it
Over a merino crewneck or a shirt with tailored trousers for the office; over a tee with denim at the weekend. Buttoned it reads composed, open it relaxes. Available in a range of tonal shades.
Why merino
Extrafine merino is fine enough to bend against the skin rather than prick it, so there's no itch even worn on bare skin. It's warm for its weight and holds its shape, which is what keeps the placket and line clean over time, and it takes a gentle wool cycle at 30°C where most pure merino needs hand-washing.
How to choose
The cardigan is the open, buttoned layer. For a closed knit, the crewneck; for a collar, the half-zip or roll neck. All share the same fit.

How to measure
Let’s find your perfect fit. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall and put your feet (with socks) on it, heels against the wall. Make sure you lean on your feet with full power when measuring. Now you simply draw a line at the end of the biggest foot. Measure the distance with a ruler and find the size that matches it: see size table. Are you in between sizes? In that case, we suggest taking the bigger size.
