Quality as always

Love the suede version of the LT01's. Fit is true, the suede is of a high premium. My only request would be to make the colour more blueberry than black which in certain lights, is how it looks.

Laces too long

I notice that since the last few years your laces are longer than they used to be so you now have very large loops hanging over your shoe after tying your laces, while wearing them. I don't like the look of that and it is useless in terms of function. Would really appreciate it if you introduce shorter laces again.

Men's business casual, made comfortable

Business casual sits between a suit and streetwear: refined enough for the office, relaxed enough for everyday. This edit brings ETQ's clean, mature essentials together in one place head to toe. It's built around what our own customers tell us matters most: in our post-purchase survey, the two reasons people most often give for choosing ETQ are quality and clean design.

What's in this edit

  • Footwear — leather and suede loafers, slip-ons and minimalist sneakers in suede, nubuck, premium nappa and full-grain leather.
  • Chinos — the TP 04 Essence Chino in versatile neutrals: sand, anthracite and navy.
  • Merino knitwear — crewnecks, half-zips, turtlenecks and a cardigan in off-white and navy.
  • Polos — tailored cotton-silk polo shirts.
  • Tailoring — the Essence Suit in navy and grey.
  • Carry — the BP 01 leather backpack, made for workdays and commutes.

How to build a business casual look

Start with a clean leather loafer or a minimalist white sneaker. Add a tailored chino in sand, charcoal or navy, and finish with a polo or a fine-gauge merino knit. For a sharper register, layer the Essence Suit over a polo and step into suede loafers.

Fit & quality

Our footwear is crafted in Portugal; our knitwear and tailoring in specialist, family-owned ateliers. Across 396 reviews ETQ is rated 4.6 out of 5, and 76% of reviewers say our products fit true to size. If you're between sizes, we suggest sizing up.

Frequently asked questions

What is business casual for men?

Business casual is a polished but relaxed dress code: tailored trousers or chinos with a polo, fine knit or shirt, finished with loafers or clean leather sneakers. A structured jacket or unstructured suit is optional. It avoids both formal suiting with a tie and sporty streetwear.

What shoes work best for business casual?

Leather and suede loafers are the safest choice, followed by minimalist white or neutral leather sneakers. In this edit, the LS 01 suede loafers and the LT 01 Essence leather sneakers are the most versatile starting points.

Can I wear sneakers with a business casual outfit?

Yes — provided they are clean, low-profile and made of leather, suede or nubuck rather than sporty mesh. ETQ's Essence and Court Lite silhouettes in white, black or taupe are built for exactly this.

Do ETQ shoes fit true to size?

Most do. Of reviewers who rated fit, 76% said true to size, with the rest split evenly between runs-small and runs-large. If you are between sizes, we recommend the larger size.

Where are ETQ products made, and from what materials?

Footwear is made in Portugal using premium suede, nubuck, nappa and full-grain leather. Knitwear uses merino wool, polos a cotton-silk blend, and chinos a softened cotton twill. We select each atelier for its specialism.

How is ETQ rated by customers?

ETQ holds a 4.6 out of 5 average across 396 product reviews and is trusted by more than 200,000 customers. In our post-purchase survey, quality and clean design are the two most-cited reasons for buying.
