Good

Had a few tough days at the begining with blisters on the heels after wearing these. But after that, very nice and confortable!

Nice, neat shoes

Great shoes—they're comfortable and work well both at the office and in more casual settings. They do need to be broken in properly, but after that, they're very comfortable to walk in. I highly recommend them!

Top-Quality

I’m really happy with my ETQ sneakers. They’re well made, the materials feel premium, and they’re built to last. They’re also very comfortable, even after a long day on my feet. Highly recommended!

A good, slightly smarter, all rounder white trainer

I was looking to transition out of airforce style trainers and wanted something that is just as diverse but runs slighter smarter, and this is the perfect shoe for that. Can be dressed down or dressed up easily and goes with pretty much any outfit. At first they are uncomfortable and take some wearing in, but after the first few wears they are fine.

Minimalist leather trainers for men

The trainer is where ETQ began in 2010, and where most wardrobes here still start. Clean lines, leather and suede uppers and a small heel mark instead of oversized branding. Every pair is designed in our Dutch studio and handmade in Felgueiras, Portugal, in a family-owned atelier, then refined over the years rather than replaced each season. The two most-bought are the flagship LT 03 and the lower-profile LT 01 Court Lite, both in white Premium Nappa for daily wear and in Mediterranean Suede for a softer look.

The reason customers come back, often for a second or third pair, is range of use: one clean leather trainer that holds up under a suit, sits right with chinos and still works at the weekend.

The trainer range

  • LT 01 Court Lite and LT 03: the core court trainers, and the cleanest daily white. Start here.
  • LT 02 Rugged and the platform LT 01: a thicker sole and a little more weight under a trouser.
  • LT 01 Shades: tonal nubuck and suede colourways.
  • MT 02: a mid-top trainer in the same clean court language, with a little more coverage around the ankle.
  • LT 07: a refined court build with subtle detailing.
  • RS runners: a lighter, sport-leaning cut in the same minimalist language.

Choose by leather: easy-clean Premium Nappa, soft Mediterranean Suede, structured Nubuck or hard-wearing Full Grain. Browse trainers by colour: white, black, brown, beige and navy trainers.

Construction and details

  • Designed in the Netherlands, handmade in Felgueiras, Portugal, in a family-owned atelier with roots going back to 1935.
  • Uppers from LWG certified tanneries in Portugal, Italy and Spain, inspected hide by hide.
  • Removable memory-foam insole with moisture management.
  • A lining matched to each model, from full leather to onSteam® or mesh, for all-day comfort.
  • Most pairs are stitched, not glued: the upper is sewn to the sole, so the shoe bends where your foot bends.
  • Most sit on our own rubber sole, from our own mould, with strong grip.
  • Tonal metal eyelets and nylon laces.
  • Assembled from 20 to 40 components, hand-lasted, and inspected twice before boxing.
  • Signed with our square at the heel.
  • Delivered with a reusable travel bag and an FSC-certified box.

How to wear them

A white LT is the easiest shoe to build a wardrobe around. With chinos and a clean T-shirt it is a summer uniform. Under tailored trousers it reads smart-casual for the office; with jeans and a knit it dresses down without looking sloppy. The tonal suede and nubuck colourways sit more naturally with earth tones and autumn layers. For more combinations, see our business casual edit.

How they fit

ETQ trainers fit true to size. In our verified reviews, more than four in five buyers of the core LT range confirm a true-to-size fit. If you are between sizes, take the larger one. Each product page shows a fit indicator built from real customer returns, plus a fit quiz that updates from previous customers.

Frequently asked

Do ETQ trainers run big or small?

Most run true to size; more than four in five buyers of the core LT range report a true-to-size fit. Between sizes, take the larger one, and check the fit indicator on each product page.

Are they comfortable straight out of the box?

Yes. Premium Nappa and suede uppers are soft from the first wear and the padded, cushioned build with a removable memory-foam insole means there is no break-in period. Comfort is the single most-mentioned point in our reviews.

What do white leather trainers go with?

Almost everything. They pair with chinos, tailored trousers and jeans, and hold up under a suit, which is why customers describe one pair doing the work of several.

Premium Nappa, suede or nubuck?

Choose Premium Nappa for an easy-clean daily white, Mediterranean Suede for a softer matt look, and Nubuck for a firmer, structured finish.

How do I keep white leather trainers clean?

White Nappa picks up small marks with wear, which clean up with the right products. Protect suede and nubuck before first wear. See our shoe care range and care guide.

Where are ETQ trainers made?

All ETQ footwear is handmade in Felgueiras, Portugal, the heart of Portuguese shoemaking, in a family-owned atelier with roots going back to 1935: three generations of shoemakers, today a team of 76 specialists. The leather comes from LWG certified tanneries in Portugal, Italy and Spain, and every pair is hand-lasted and passes two final inspections before it ships. Design happens at our studio in the Netherlands.

Do ETQ trainers come in half sizes?

We work in whole EU sizes, so there are no half sizes. If you normally fall on a half size or sit between two, take the larger of the two, there is a little room to fine-tune the fit with the insole.

Do they work for wider feet?

Lightly wider feet are generally fine. If your feet are very wide across the front, the clean court last sits close there at first, then the leather softens and settles to your foot. A simple fix: the standard ETQ insole is fairly thick, so swapping in a thinner insole frees up noticeable room. Fit always stays a little personal, so use the fit indicator on each product page as your guide.

Can I use my own insole?

Yes. The memory-foam insole lifts straight out, so you can drop in your own support or orthotic insole, or fit a thinner one to create extra room.

Can I wear leather trainers in the rain?

They can handle a shower, but they may pick up dirt and water marks. We recommend preparing them beforehand with a water-repellent treatment, essential on suede and nubuck, and a good idea on Nappa and full grain too. See our shoe care range.

Can I buy replacement laces?

Yes, we sell laces separately, so you can refresh a worn pair or switch up the look.
