ETQ Amsterdam is a Dutch design studio that has refined one wardrobe since 2010. We don't follow seasons or chase trends. We engineer essentials, T-shirts, trousers, chinos, polos, sweaters, hoodies, shirts, jackets, jeans, shorts, socks and boxer shorts, and we treat each one like a product, not a garment. What ETQ menswear is, and what it isn't
If you have worn a pair of ETQ sneakers or loafers, you already know the rhythm: considered materials, patient construction, no oversized branding. Our clothing follows the same code. Clean lines, considered proportions, and fabrics chosen for how they feel on the third wash, not the first. We do not drop new silhouettes every six weeks; we refine the ones that already work, which is why the flagship TS 01 Essence T-shirt and the Essence trouser now exist in their next iteration. Better fit, better recovery, same silhouette.
It is a discipline. Most men do not need a wardrobe of 400 garments. They need fifteen that work together, hold their shape and quietly outlast the rest. That is the wardrobe ETQ builds.
The materials, in plain language
The fabric decision is where most brands cut corners and where we do not. A short, honest map of what you are wearing when you wear ETQ:
- Heavyweight T-shirts: our 300 gsm Heavyweight Stretch Cotton, 95% cotton with 5% elastane, built to hold its shape wash after wash. The structure stays; the drape does not sag. The point our reviewers raise most.
- Lightweight T-shirts and longsleeves: a finer cotton with a clean hand-feel, made for warmer months and for layering under a shirt or overshirt.
- Cotton Silk Knit: used across our Tailored polos and crew tees. Cotton with a silk hand, soft, refined and dry. It dresses up a trouser without trying.
- Merino wool: fine-gauge, breathable and temperature-regulating, which is why a single ETQ knit covers spring evenings and winter office days.
- Traveller Weave: our Essence trousers, suits and overshirts. A technical weave with the drape of wool and the recovery of stretch. It travels well and wrinkles rarely.
- Japanese denim: the JD 01 is woven in Japan, in Tokyo, then constructed in China. It softens, shapes and fades with wear, finished with a leather ETQ patch as a quiet signature.
- Made in Portugal, Turkey and China: cut, sewn and finished in small family-owned ateliers we have worked with for years. We choose the country and the factory per piece, on the specialism that makes that particular item best. We like our makers with history: our footwear atelier has roots going back to 1935, and among our garment partners is a family-run knitting mill in Manisa, Turkey, working since 1898, four generations on, with knitting, dyeing and finishing under one roof. Design and pattern-making happen in our Dutch studio.
How to build the wardrobe
Everything here is made to mix, and most of it is made to mix with our shoes.
- The foundation: the TS 01 Essence heavyweight tee with an Essence chino or trouser, finished with white sneakers or a suede loafer.
- For the office: an Essence trouser with a tailored polo or fine knit, over loafers or clean leather sneakers.
- For the weekend: a tee with denim and sneakers, layered with a sweater or hoodie as it cools.

How does ETQ sizing run?
Most ETQ menswear is true to size for European men's standards, and the majority of buyers in our verified reviews confirm it. The heavyweight tees run true; the oversized cut is intentionally roomier. Each product page carries a size guide and verified-buyer fit feedback. Our shoes also run true to size, though slip-ons lean slightly snug, so between sizes take the larger one.
How do I care for ETQ clothing?
The short version that keeps a garment at its best: machine wash cool, at 30°C, inside out and with like colours, then reshape and dry flat rather than tumbling hot. Merino goes on the gentle wool cycle; heavyweight cottons keep their structure when dried flat. Skip the hot iron. Exact care is on every product page, and washing less keeps colour and shape for longer.

How to measure
Let’s find your perfect fit. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall and put your feet (with socks) on it, heels against the wall. Make sure you lean on your feet with full power when measuring. Now you simply draw a line at the end of the biggest foot. Measure the distance with a ruler and find the size that matches it: see size table. Are you in between sizes? In that case, we suggest taking the bigger size.
Mediterranean Suede

Premium Suede

Nappa Leather
Soft. Smooth. Nappa leather makes extremely comfortable shoes. The leather is obtained from tanning animal hides. It is characterized by a fine grain and a smooth finish. It feels simply sophisticated.
Nubuck Leather
Premium nubuck: the best of the best. Exclusive leather that we sanded rough on the outside grain part of the hide, giving it a velvety butter-soft surface. It offers utmost suppleness.
Full Grain Leather
Full grain leather is naturally firmer and more durable as it is produced by retaining the top layer of the hide. Its appearance is natural, authentic, and robust. You are still able to see the grains. It looks just like the grains on your skin. We never sanded, buffed, or snuffed it, so this leather is super strong.
French Terry
Tès Chique. French terry is a knit characterized by its unique looped-back construction. One side is smooth, and the other side is textured with loops of thread. It is known for its comfort, breathability, and moisture-proof properties. French terry is available as lightweight or heavyweight.
Punti di Roma
Wrinkle-resistant, soft like a baby, and slightly elastic. This is Italian quality, knitted to perfection. Punti Di Roma has a heavy, rich quality as the stitches interlock on both sides of the fabric. The best part: it’s recovery properties. This fabric stays in shape. And so will you.
Bamboo
Bamboo fibers are derived from the pulp of bamboo plants. Bamboo knits are soft and breathable. Moisture wicking? Yes. Ideal for socks.
American Fleece
