- Handmade in Portugal, in a family-run factory we have worked with for years. Designed in the Netherlands.
- Mediterranean suede, tanned at LWG certified tanneries in Italy and Spain. Soft from the first wear, and it takes the shape of your foot within a week.
- Stitched, not glued. The upper is attached to the sole with a seam, so the shoe bends where your foot bends.
- Hand-lasted, then inspected twice before it leaves the factory.
- Between 20 and 40 separate components in every pair, put together by hand.
- A removable memory foam insole that softens to the shape of your foot. Lift it out to fit a fresh one or your own orthotics.
- onSteam® lining moves moisture away from the foot, which is what keeps a leather shoe wearable on a long day.
- Our own sole, from our own mould, in a rubber blend we specified ourselves: enough give to walk on all day, firm enough to hold its shape.
- A reinforced toe and heel counter inside the shoe, so it still holds its shape wear after wear.
- Tonal metal eyelets and nylon laces, so nothing catches the eye before the shape does. Spare laces are available separately.
- The ETQ signature square at the heel.
- A reusable travel bag comes in the box, for wherever the shoes go next.

Good to know
- We ship on working days. On New Year’s Day, King’s Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, we take a day off.
- Delivery times are a guide. Very occasionally it takes a day longer, for example while your payment is still being processed.
- We don’t deliver to PO boxes.
Insured in transit
Your order is insured until it reaches you. Sometimes we ask for a signature on delivery; from then on, the parcel is your responsibility. If someone else signs for you, their signature counts as proof of delivery.
Ordering from outside the EU?
Outside the EU (except the UK), you don’t pay Dutch VAT: the 21% comes off your order automatically at checkout, as soon as you enter your address or switch country or currency. Import duties and local taxes aren’t included; the carrier collects them on delivery (DDU). We can’t calculate or cover them in advance, so check with your local customs office what to expect.

Good to know
- Send your items back clean and unworn, with their tags and packaging. That way we can process them quickly.
- Underwear can only be returned with the seal intact.
- Returning more than one item? We charge a €2 handling fee for each extra item.
- You can also send your return with your own carrier. Even so, we recommend our return portal: if your parcel goes missing on the way, we’re responsible, and we process your return faster. We can’t reimburse the cost of your own carrier.
- Price difference because of a promotion? We make up for it with a voucher.
- If an item doesn’t meet these conditions, we may refund it in part or not at all.

When it comes to materials, our bar is high. No shortcuts. ETQs premium suedes and leathers are smooth like butter and cherry-picked per shoe. Obsessive, yes. But: soon after wearing ETQ you will notice the quality difference.

We've always been fascinated by packaging. We designed it with efficiency and with the environment in mind. The modular packaging consists of long-lasting items created with recycled materials, while the shipping box is repurposed to serve as a shoebox as well.

While traditional sneakers are meant for sports, ETQ footwear is made for the city. That is why we use a solid and heavy cupped sole made from reinforced rubber to last in all conditions. Fit so smooth that you’ll want to keep them on. And you can.

Nice, but they run very small
The sneakers look great and feel well-made. However, they’re slightly higher than the styles I usually buy from this brand. Because of that, they rub against my heel, which feels a bit uncomfortable at first. Other than that, I’m happy with the shoes’ appearance and craftsmanship.

Small size
With every shoe from ETQ I wear size 45, but with these I actually got a half size too small. Unfortunately I only noticed this after a day at work so I can't return them. A waste of money and very strange that these suddenly fell smaller.

Perfect smart/casual shoe
Have been looking for a smart trainer for some time, and these are it! Bought these for holiday, and they pair perfectly with straight-legged black linen trousers. Had a compliment on them the first day I wore them. They are very comfy, great quality, perfect fit - I’ll be back for another pair from ETQ very soon. Got my eye on 2 or 3 other pairs.

Let’s find your perfect fit. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall and put your feet (with socks) on it, heels against the wall. Make sure you lean on your feet with full power when measuring. Now you simply draw a line at the end of the biggest foot. Measure the distance with a ruler and find the size that matches it: see size table. Are you in between sizes? In that case, we suggest taking the bigger size.
