The Essence upper, lifted onto our thicker sole. Nothing changes above the foot. Everything changes below it. The added height gives the shape more presence without touching the line that makes it an LT 01. For anyone who wants the original to sit a little heavier.

- Handmade in Portugal, in a family-run factory we have worked with for years. Designed in the Netherlands.
- Nubuck from an LWG Gold tannery in Portugal. Its soft surface takes in light instead of reflecting it, so it looks better on day two hundred than on day one.
- Stitched, not glued. The upper is attached to the sole with a seam, so the shoe bends where your foot bends.
- Hand-lasted, then inspected twice before it leaves the factory.
- Between 20 and 40 separate components in every pair, put together by hand.
- A removable memory foam insole that softens to the shape of your foot. Lift it out to fit a fresh one or your own orthotics.
- onSteam® lining moves moisture away from the foot, which is what keeps a leather shoe wearable on a long day.
- Our own sole, from our own mould, in a rubber blend we specified ourselves: enough give to walk on all day, firm enough to hold its shape.
- A reinforced toe and heel counter inside the shoe, so it still holds its shape wear after wear.
- Tonal metal eyelets and nylon laces, so nothing catches the eye before the shape does. Spare laces are available separately.
- The ETQ signature square at the heel.
- A reusable travel bag comes in the box, for wherever the shoes go next.

Good to know
- We ship on working days. On New Year’s Day, King’s Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, we take a day off.
- Delivery times are a guide. Very occasionally it takes a day longer, for example while your payment is still being processed.
- We don’t deliver to PO boxes.
Insured in transit
Your order is insured until it reaches you. Sometimes we ask for a signature on delivery; from then on, the parcel is your responsibility. If someone else signs for you, their signature counts as proof of delivery.
Ordering from outside the EU?
Outside the EU (except the UK), you don’t pay Dutch VAT: the 21% comes off your order automatically at checkout, as soon as you enter your address or switch country or currency. Import duties and local taxes aren’t included; the carrier collects them on delivery (DDU). We can’t calculate or cover them in advance, so check with your local customs office what to expect.

Good to know
- Send your items back clean and unworn, with their tags and packaging. That way we can process them quickly.
- Underwear can only be returned with the seal intact.
- Returning more than one item? We charge a €2 handling fee for each extra item.
- You can also send your return with your own carrier. Even so, we recommend our return portal: if your parcel goes missing on the way, we’re responsible, and we process your return faster. We can’t reimburse the cost of your own carrier.
- Price difference because of a promotion? We make up for it with a voucher.
- If an item doesn’t meet these conditions, we may refund it in part or not at all.

When it comes to materials, our bar is high. No shortcuts. ETQs premium suedes and leathers are smooth like butter and cherry-picked per shoe. Obsessive, yes. But: soon after wearing ETQ you will notice the quality difference.

We've always been fascinated by packaging. We designed it with efficiency and with the environment in mind. The modular packaging consists of long-lasting items created with recycled materials, while the shipping box is repurposed to serve as a shoebox as well.

Laces too long
I notice that since the last few years your laces are longer than they used to be so you now have very large loops hanging over your shoe after tying your laces, while wearing them. I don't like the look of that and it is useless in terms of function. Would really appreciate it if you introduce shorter laces again.
4th pairs, still the best I’ve worn
These are my fourth pairs. They are so comfortable and timeless Made well, designed well. These are the go-to sneakers. Everyone should have one of these
Nice bit too small
Not true to size. Too small for 47. Compared to brands like Giorgio, Floris van Bommel.
Comfy, but
This is the second pair I've owned, the first pair blistered my right heal, and I couldn't wear them for a while. Eventually I started to wear them again but only for a short time. So with this pair to prevent the above occurring again I'm only wearing them for a short while till they've worn in. Otherwise they are comfortable and good to walk in. We'll see how they go
Fine sneakers and service
Already my 12th pair I believe, wonderful, good and beautiful shoes. Have a limited pair with army print, will they come again? Would be great.

Let’s find your perfect fit. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall and put your feet (with socks) on it, heels against the wall. Make sure you lean on your feet with full power when measuring. Now you simply draw a line at the end of the biggest foot. Measure the distance with a ruler and find the size that matches it: see size table. Are you in between sizes? In that case, we suggest taking the bigger size.

Choose the larger size. Feet naturally expand throughout the day, so measuring in the evening usually gives the most accurate result.
