Footwear
What are people saying about our footwear.
ETQ Footwear. Designed in the Netherlands, made in Portugal, worn for years.
ETQ has built one footwear collection since 2010, refined iteration by iteration. We do not chase silhouettes or release drops. We improve the few shoes we make. The result is a focused range of men's footwear in premium leathers and suedes, from sneakers and loafers to boots and sandals. Each pair is cut, lasted and stitched in family-owned Portuguese ateliers we have worked with for years, every one chosen for a technique it has spent a generation mastering.
When we ask customers why they bought, two answers come back far more than any other: the clean design, and the quality. Many come in for one pair and return for a second. The average score across our verified reviews is 4.4 out of 5.
What customers describe next, after comfort and quality, is range of use: a clean leather sneaker that holds up with a suit, sits right with chinos, and still works at the weekend. Most ETQ footwear is built to be worn that way, dressed up or down, rather than for a single occasion.
The range, by how you will actually wear it
Sneakers and runners. Our sneaker collection is where most ETQ wardrobes start. Clean lines, premium leathers, no oversized branding. The flagship LT 03 and the lower-profile LT 01 Court Lite are the two most-bought pairs, both in white Premium Nappa as the daily driver and in Mediterranean Suede for a softer feel. For more weight underfoot there is the LT 02 Rugged and the platform LT 01. For a lighter, sport-leaning cut, the RS runner.
Loafers and slip-ons. The LS 01 is one of ETQ's defining pieces: a clean Mediterranean Suede slip-on on a durable rubber outsole, made to be worn straight out of the box. From that base the loafer collection extends into the ML mid loafer, a higher-cut slip-on, the MC moccasin, a clean slip-on without the penny strap, and the LS 03 for cooler months.
Boots and dressed footwear. The CB 01 chelsea boot and our desert boots carry the same considered last as our sneakers, in Full Grain leather or Mediterranean Suede. The deck shoes and dressed footwear sit closest to a smart leather shoe, with the cushioning of our court sneakers underneath.
Summer footwear. For warmer months the sandals and slides use the same Mediterranean Suede and Full Grain leathers as the shoes, in a clean single-strap (SL 01) or cross-strap (SL 03) build.
How to wear ETQ footwear
The range is built to mix. A white sneaker or a suede loafer carries chinos and a T-shirt through summer, sharpens under tailored trousers for the office, and dresses down with jeans and a knit. Boots and the MC moccasin take the same wardrobe into autumn. For built-out combinations see our business casual edit, or pair any shoe with the rest of our menswear.
The materials and how they are made
What you are actually wearing when you wear ETQ:
- Premium Nappa: Soft, fine-grain leather, supple from day one. Used across the LT 01 and LT 03 court silhouettes. Buyers most often describe it as buttery; it softens without losing shape.
- Mediterranean Suede: Sanded for a soft, matt hand. Used across loafers, slip-ons, sandals and selected sneakers. The signature feel of the brand.
- Full Grain: The strongest, most durable layer of the hide. Used on deck shoes, boots and selected sandals. It develops a patina over time.
- Nubuck: Top-grain leather buffed to a fine nap. A more structured cousin of suede, used on selected sneakers.
- Construction and finish: a removable memory-foam insole with moisture management, a leather lining, Strobel construction for flexibility and a rubber outsole with strong grip and slip resistance, finished with our signature square heel pin. Every pair ships with a dust bag made from recycled PET bottles and an FSC-certified box.
How to choose, and how it fits
Three honest starting points. For a clean daily white sneaker that works with chinos, denim or tailoring: the LT 01 Court Lite or LT 03 in Premium Nappa. For warm-weather refinement: the LS 01 loafer in Mediterranean Suede. For cooler months: a chelsea boot or a suede loafer.
On sizing, most ETQ footwear fits true to size. In our verified reviews, about three in four buyers confirm a true-to-size fit, and for the core LT sneakers it rises to more than four in five. Fit can vary between silhouettes, so each product page carries a fit indicator built from real customer returns, plus a fit quiz. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
Frequently asked about ETQ footwear
Do ETQ shoes run big or small?
Most run true to size. In our verified reviews, about three in four buyers report a true-to-size fit, and for the core LT sneakers it is more than four in five. Fit can differ between silhouettes, so check the fit indicator on each product page, which is built from real return data. If you are between sizes, take the larger one.
How do ETQ sizes convert to UK and US?
ETQ uses EU sizing as the base. Every product page and the size guide shows the EU, UK, US and centimetre conversion. To measure, stand on a sheet of paper, mark your longest toe and your heel, and match the length in centimetres to the chart.
Are ETQ shoes wide or narrow?
The lasts are a regular width, and a few silhouettes sit a little closer to the foot. Leather and suede relax with wear, and customers with wider feet often size up half a size. If width matters to you, the fit indicator and verified reviews on each product page are the most reliable guide.
Are ETQ shoes comfortable straight away?
Yes, and comfort is the single most-mentioned point in our reviews. Premium Nappa and Mediterranean Suede uppers are soft from the first wear, a removable memory-foam insole sits underfoot, and our loafers and slip-ons are flexible from day one, so there is no traditional break-in period.
How do I care for ETQ leather and suede?
Treat suede and nubuck with a protector spray before the first wear and re-apply now and then; once protected they handle light rain, though none of our leathers are built for heavy wet weather. White Nappa and pale suede pick up small marks with wear, which clean up with the right products, while Full Grain develops a patina rather than looking worn. See our shoe care range and care guide.
Where are ETQ shoes made?
All ETQ footwear is designed in our Dutch studio and made in family-owned ateliers in Portugal, using leathers selected for each model.
How do returns and exchanges work?
Returns and exchanges run through a self-service portal within 14 days of receipt, for a different size, colour or model. We ship across Europe, the UK, the US and beyond.

How to measure
Let’s find your perfect fit. Place a sheet of paper on the floor against the wall and put your feet (with socks) on it, heels against the wall. Make sure you lean on your feet with full power when measuring. Now you simply draw a line at the end of the biggest foot. Measure the distance with a ruler and find the size that matches it: see size table. Are you in between sizes? In that case, we suggest taking the bigger size.

Originally developed for sportswear, piqué knit has evolved into a sophisticated fabric that balances structure with breathability. The weave creates tiny raised patterns, adding a tactile dimension while allowing air to flow easily, making it perfect for all-season wear.
Soft yet durable, piqué knit is frequently used in polo shirts and garments that require a balance between casual and formal. It drapes beautifully while maintaining a slight stretch, offering comfort without losing its shape. Known for its ability to hold its form and resist wrinkling, this fabric is an excellent choice for those who value a polished look with minimal maintenance.
Mercerized Cotton
Mercerized cotton is the epitome of luxury in cotton fabrics. Through a special finishing process, the cotton fibers are treated to enhance their natural properties, resulting in a fabric that is smoother, stronger, and more lustrous. The mercerization process not only strengthens the fibers but also gives the cotton a subtle sheen that adds an elevated, polished look to the material.
What sets mercerized cotton apart is its ability to hold dye exceptionally well, resulting in vibrant, rich colors that resist fading over time. It’s smoother to the touch than regular cotton, offering a silk-like feel without sacrificing breathability. This fabric is durable, resists shrinking, and maintains its shape, making it ideal for garments that combine sophistication with everyday wearability.
At ETQ, our mercerized cotton shirts offer a refined, elegant look with the comfort and practicality of cotton. It’s the perfect choice for those who appreciate understated luxury and long-lasting quality in their wardrobe essentials.
